The Sunshine Coast Council seeks for the region to be recognised as healthy, smart and creative.

Innovation within the water space is long overdue and clearly a space that speaks to each of these elements.

Working with all levels of government to deliver fit-for-purpose reclaimed water is now critical. Diverting and treating wastewater for drip irrigation use on sports fields, golf clubs and within the agricultural sector reduces effluent released to the ocean, reduces the demand on potable water, delays the need for investment in expensive water infrastructure and future proofs water supply for the region.

If other regions and states have successfully implemented this approach across Australia the Sunshine Coast should follow suit and be healthy, smart and creative with supporting innovative water supply options.
